Frieke Janssens – Smoking Kids

  1. Fascinating. I normally never “like” any representations of children. It’s one of my rare principles, just like I never use my own children in my (multimedia) work.

One of the central themes of my work is censorship and I find this series fascinating and certainly well executed.
I’m not sure what to say except that I believe the purpose of art is to make us question our assumptions. In this instance, mission accomplished.

It would be great if you responded to this comment to let me know, perhaps in a day or two, how many other “likes” you got. I’m genuinely curious. Thank you, in any event, for this interesting piece, for going against the grain and more generally, for the quality of your curation. I am following and enjoying your site.
