A. Boogert – 800 Pages of Colour Mixing in 1692

Hundreds of years ago an artist known only as “A. Boogert” sat down to write a book in Dutch about mixing watercolours. This artist would mix and write about the colours and its effects in a book spanning nearly 800 pages long. The book itself resembles immensely our contemporary pantone colour chart which wasn’t published until 1963, almost 300 years later. The book is kept in Aix-en-Provence, France and can be read HERE.
