Zim & Zou – Douceur / Douleur

French designer Zim & Zou recently came out with a brilliant interactive sculpture project entitled “Douceur / Douleur” and here’s what they have to say about the project:

“In french, ‘Douceur’ means ‘Sweetness’, and ‘Douleur’ means ‘Pain’. Only one letter separates these two opposite words. This project first appeared while thinking of the tragic condition of child soldiers used in different conflicts all over the world. These children inspired us this duality between the sweetness of innocence and the violence of the weapons they’re forced to use. The useless weapons of Douceur/Douleur are a message of peace. Objects crafted out of felt, thread and paper.”
