Luke Pollard – Iconic Paintings Reimagined

Luke Fraser Pollard is a Canadian fine artist currently based in Toronto Canada. Luke is a second-generation painter and a self taught talent who best describes his work as Pop and cinematic inspired realism. Luke’s vibrant acrylic pieces resonate a deep passion for cultural symbolism and the exploration between possession and the human experience. Through the use of bold colours, contrast and negative/positive space, Luke’s goal is to ultimately create the sensation and desire of physical touch through the act of viewing his paintings.

In a series of brilliant acrylic paintings, Pollard beautifully repurposes paintings by iconic artists from The Group of Seven to Warhol giving the illusion that they are painted directly on classic Bic Lighters.
