Italian artist Millo, a participant of the urban street art festival in Ukraine called Mural Social Club, decorated a 9-floor high building in Kyiv with the painting dedicated to love. More information and images after the jump.
“Here is the wall I painted in the city of Kyiv (Ukraine) for Mural Social Club Festival.
It is called “Love Runs the World”. It’s a message of peace in a city zone where there are just blocks
and blocks and blocks for kilometers. Someone may say that it’s just a small flower in the concrete,
but many flowers do a small garden”, says Millo.
Italian artist Francesco Camillo Giorgino, more known as Millo, paints large-scale murals that
feature friendly inhabitants exploring their urban setting. He uses simple black and white lines with
dashes of color when necessary, and often incorporates elements of architecture into his multi-story
paintings.
He took part to several street art festival all around Europe, like the Muraliza in Portugal, Vilnius
Street Art in Lithuania, Heerlen Murals in Netherland but also the Sbagha Bagha in Morocco, the
Urban Myths in Belarus and many more. His works have been exhibited in London, Rio de Janeiro,
Chicago, Milan, Rome, Florence and more. In 2014 he won the B.Art competition that enabled him
to paint 13 multi-story murals in the city of Turin, Italy.
The Mural Social Club Festival is organized by NGO Sky Art Foundation and Dmytro Palienko,
curated by Oleg Sosnov and Julia Ostrovska.
The festival line-up includes top street art names, all of whom are coming to Ukraine to decorate the
cities with their artwork: Li-Hill, Rodrigo Branco, Fintan Magee, Borondo, Fikos Antonios, Millo,
Agostino Iacurci and others. Ukrainian street artists such as Aec Interesni Kazki, Roman Minin,
Sergey Radkevich, Sasha Korban will also participate part in the project.
Sky Art Foundation is a charity fund that was established in Ukraine in autumn 2014 by patron
Dmytro Palienko.
The organization aims to support the new generation of Ukrainian contemporary artists. Sky Art
Foundation contributes to the international cultural exchange and Ukraine’s cultural integration into
the world art scene. The fund pursues an active exhibiting strategy revolving around its own art
space Sky Art Foundation. It also is an active charity that organizes international art projects,
cultural events that involve Ukrainian artists, and establishes grants for upcoming artistic talents.
