Pangeaseed Foundation – Seal Walls: Murals for Oceans [San Diego]

SAN DIEGO, California, Aug. 24, 2016 – PangeaSeed Foundation, in collaboration with Cohort Collective, Surfrider Foundation, and Kaaboo Del Mar, is pleased to announce Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans San Diego. Check out the information details after the jump!

From September 8th – 14th, 2016, join our group of renowned artists in celebrating the majesty of Southern California’s marine environment through a series of community-centered events and the painting of ocean-themed murals to beautify neighborhoods, galvanize the local community and raise awareness for the importance of San Diego’s precious marine natural resources.

The San Diego festival of PangeaSeed’s globe-spanning Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans project will feature over 20 international and local contemporary artists, collaborating to bring vital environmental issues into the spotlight. Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans is the first movement of its kind helping to save our seas and water resources via public art and activism (ARTivism).

“This project is a labor of love for our team, artists, and community partners,” says Christopher Konecki, regional director, Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans. “Art can transcend cultural and linguistic boundaries; as ‘artivists’ we believe that using our talents to raise social and environmental awareness can inspire positive change and action.”

The public may view the artists painting murals around the city between September 8th and 12th, 2016 in high profile locations such as The Observatory North Park, Wonderland Ocean Pub, La Bodega Gallery, and BJ’s Rentals.

The festival will culminate in a closing reception with the artists at La Bodega Gallery on September 14th, 2016 from 6-11pm with live painting, prizes and musical performances by local talents such as The Verigolds.
