San Francisco designer Benny Gold recently sent blank airplanes made of balsa wood to artists all over the world. Each artist hand-crafted each airplane into individual works of art. Five Artists Transform Books Into Unique Sculptures

Rebound: Dissections and Excavations in Book Art is an exciting installation that utilizes books for much more than just reading. The exhibition, which is currently open at the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art at the College of Charleston in South Carolina, the collective exhibit features artwork by five different mixed-media artists: Doug Beube, Long-Bin Chen, Brian Dettmer, Guy Laramée, and Francesca Pastine.
