Detroit-based Library Street Collective is pleased to announce SYSTEMS, a solo exhibition by Jason REVOK and the gallery’s second in a series of LA-based shows. Opening on October 22nd, their Mid-City space will be filled with Williams’ hypnotic, large-scale paintings on canvas and metal that present the physical and conceptual disintegration of structures. The prolific Cleon Peterson is getting ready to launch his solo exhibition at Library Street Collective in Detroit this week entitled “Poison.” Peterson is Cranbrook alumni and returns back to Michigan to unveil a new body of work consisting of paintings and sculptures. The infamous Revok is set to make his LA debut next month with his exhibition aptly titled “Revok: Los Angeles”. The show promises the vibrant, geometric forms that Revok has become increasingly known for outside of his graffiti. Many of the pieces highlighted in “Revok: Made in Detroit.” will be on display, accompanied by 12 new paintings on assembled wood pieces. If you’re around LA at this time the show is a must-see.
Library Street Collective from Detroit, recently started a global arts project in the heart of downtown Detroit in collaboration with Detroit entrepreneur/real estate mogul Dan Gilbert. The goal of the project is to commission some of the world’s most influential street artists, muralists, graffiti artists and fine artists to paint large-scale murals throughout the interior spaces of the garage of a newly constructed mixed-use development (referred to as ‘the Z’).
