Victoria Crayhon‘s photography series “Movie Matinée” is a beautiful set of manipulated abandoned movie theatre listing signs that speak of the sadness of their abandonment.
SUBURBAN is a multifaceted photography, film and installation exhibition created by artist Ian Strange. Over a two year period Strange worked with a film crew and volunteers in Ohio, Detroit, Alabama, New Jersey, New York and New Hampshire to create, photograph and film eight site specific interventions incorporating suburban homes. The recording of these interventions through film and photographic documentation forms the basis of new a solo exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria on July 26 and a short-film which will be released in late 2013.
Elise Victoria Louise Windsor is a visual artist working and living in Toronto, Ontario. She graduated from OCAD University’s BFA program, focusing in photography, printmaking and sculpture. Layering photography with sculpture, she creates analogue-based photographic illusions addressing the phantasmagoric qualities specific to the medium of photography. In this series, Windsor confuses both the mind and the eye with her trompe l’oeil work.
